The rain did come to Adelaide. The showers promised in the morning session passed well to the south of Adelaide but a ferocious thunderstom hit the Adelaide Oval just after 3pm (about two and a half hours after Swann took the last wicket). It dumped 42mm on the ground in less than an hour and it drizzled for the rest of the afternoon.
