Proud Moment
We are allowed some proud moments, if only to balance those times when we are marched after a vociferous keeper turns a flick of the pad into a catch behind or the ball pitches outside leg stump ...
I have often said, the proudest moment of my cricketing days was being awarded a trophy named after a wonderful supporter of the game when I was judged to be Clubman of the Season back in my days with Waratahs CC in Armidale. It didn't seem likely the moment could be topped.
On Saturday night it was at least matched when I stood with son Chris and received the Clubmen of the Year trophy, awarded to us both by the members of City United CC. It's one thing to receive such an accolade but to know my boy was being likewise acknowledged made it incredibly special. Like the first time round, the trophy was named in honour of a special man.
A humble thanks for the chance to feel again the intersecting moment of pride and humility.

Hold your breath and be enthused ... the West Indies beat Ireland in another Twenty20 game. I don't know about you but for me, I feel assured cricket is on the right track ... to the end of the line!
